Colourpop Ultra Matte & Ultra Satin Lips (Swatches + Review)

Our stars today are the Colourpop liquid lipsticks! *pops confetti*

Yes, sadly Colourpop is not sold in stores in SG but you can always get them online

(which are much more expensive than buying in the US. Duh.)

I had bought some of their Ultra Mattes and Ultra Satins over a period of time.

And it's time to do a review because...

Well let's get started on this review and swatch, shall we?

Let's start with the Ultra Satin Lips.

L-R: Brooklyn , Dopey

Here's how they look on the lips.

Brooklyn - Warm hot pink

Dopey - Dusty Mauve

As the name says, Satin Lips, it is not exactly a matte but not glossy as well.

Among these 2, I totally prefer Dopey in terms of both colour and application.

Dopey is so much easier to apply and smooth while Brooklyn is kinda patchy.

You can't really see what i mean in the photo because Brooklyn looks so nice and flawless here because i slathered on more product, which did not feel so comfy on the lips.

I used to be an only pink or nude lips person which is why i chose Brooklyn but pretty disappointed.

I guess if I were to apply Brooklyn i would do maybe an ombre lip instead of full lip application.

Dopey - 5/5⭐️

Brooklyn - 3.5/5⭐️

Next, we have the Ultra Matte Lips!

Top - Bottom: Donut , Viper , Avenue

Here's how they look on the lips. ( I still need more practice applying these liquid lipsticks!😝 )

Donut - Coral Pink

Viper - Plum Berry

(well let's just call it the Vamp Lip😙 )

Avenue - Blackened Red

(yet another vamp shade😘 )

These are transfer-proof, it does not budge unless you eat oily food then you'll have the butthole lip which you will have to touch up. (unless you can eat without getting the oil on your lips then💁 )

So, as you can see Matte liquid lipsticks can accentuate fine lines if you have not-so-moisturized lips like me.

I did not use lipbalm beneath them, therefore please excuse me.. 🙈

But I must say they feel acceptably comfy on the lips.

EXCEPT, Donut.

As you can see in the swatch that it looks horribly patchy and dry.

I don't know if I had gotten an old stock or fake or what but it literally dried down SO FAST and squeezed my lips like they can't wait to suck out the moisture on my lips.

And I can't layer over the patchy areas as it will become a thick goopy dried mess.

I really wanted Donut to work for me because it really is a pretty colour.

Moving on.

As for Viper and Avenue.

I JUST LOVE❤️

They made me fall in love with dark shades.

And also, I had always thought red doesn't suit me until I tried matte, darker reds.

Now I can't live without red.

So you never know until you try😎

I would recommend as it is not an expensive product to start out your liquid lipstick journey with.

And they have a wide range of colours to choose from!

If you want transfer-proof but don't mind it feeling drying overtime, you can try the Ultra Mattes.

If you want comfort but don't mind it fading little by little, you can try the Ultra Satins.
